In the current B2B-Nord magazine by Regenta Verlag, business journalist Jan Winter addressed the topic of detectives and portrayed Aaden Detective Agency Hamburg for this purpose:
"The business detectives investigate a wide variety of different cases. These range from suspected plagiarism and violations of competition law to employees calling in sick fraudulently, travel expense fraud, and much more. The qualified, locally knowledgeable, and experienced detectives work for companies and private individuals in Hamburg, northern Germany, and worldwide if required.
National as well as international companies are based in Hamburg and ensure steady economic growth. However, more and more criminals are also benefiting from this development, which naturally leads to an increase in economic crime.
"We primarily become active when there is a suspected offense that has not yet been supported by sufficient evidence or for which no perpetrator has yet been identified. In this respect, a business detective agency also takes on part of the work of the police," explains Tanja Gilke, Managing Director of Aaden Detective Agency Hamburg.
More than 50 percent of all assignments handled by the detective agency involve investigations against a company’s own employees. These mostly concern expense and billing fraud, fraudulent sick leave, or theft. However, hackers and ordinary thieves are also pursued.
The detective agency is not specialized in specific industries but generally accepts all assignments that involve a legitimate initial suspicion. "A unique feature of our detective agency is that we have a high proportion of female staff in our company. Especially in investigations we conduct against men, this often leads to faster success. Here, the old cliché of women wrapping men around their finger works very well," Tanja Gilke continues.
The detectives also cooperate with law firms. Particularly in debtor searches, they have more resources available to obtain information. They have access to various research tools such as information systems, criminal records, and many more."
